Painter on the Job Ready Program

If you are a painter on the Job Ready Program (JRP), this page sets out what the workplace assessment is, what your Skills Progress Report (SPR) lists, and how to practise for the interview.

The workplace assessment

Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) runs the program. TRA says this step will:

“Confirm that you have the required technical and workplace skills for your occupation.”
TRA Job Ready Program Guidelines, May 2026, page 15 (opens in a new tab)

Where it happens, and how:

“The assessment will be completed in the workplace of your current registered employer.”
TRA Job Ready Program Guidelines, May 2026, page 16 (opens in a new tab)
“The assessment is done using a range of methods. These may include an online or face-to-face interview and observation of your practical skills at your workplace.”
TRA Job Ready Program Guidelines, May 2026, page 16 (opens in a new tab)
