Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law come first
Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
- to cancel your service contract with us; and
- to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion of the contract.
In plain English: the rules below are about changing your mind. They are not about faults. If the course is broken, or it is not what we described, those rules do not apply to you — contact us and we will put it right.
Courses
A course costs AUD $100 for one trade and gives you 30 days of access, starting when we turn your access on.
Full refund if both of these are true:
- you ask within 24 hours of your access being turned on; and
- you have not submitted a quiz in that course since your access started.
Ask by emailing support@becometradeready.com.au from the address on your account. We will refund the full $100 by bank transfer, to the account details you give us at the time, and your access will end. We do not hold your bank details, so we will ask for them then.
After that, we do not give change-of-mind refunds. Once you have had the material for more than a day, or you have submitted a quiz since your access started, we cannot un-give it to you. That is why the window exists and why it is long enough to check it is what you expected.
Two things this does not affect:
- Your Australian Consumer Law rights, set out above. If the course is faulty or not as described, the 24-hour window is irrelevant.
- Access we could not deliver. If we take your money and your access never works, that is our failure, not a change of mind.
Workshops
A workshop seat is paid for in the same way as a course.
If we cancel
You get a full refund. We pay it by bank transfer to the account details you give us — we do not hold your bank details, so we will ask for them at the time.
If we move a workshop to a different date rather than cancelling it, you can choose: take the new date, or take a full refund. We will not move you without asking.
If you cancel
- More than 7 days before the workshop starts: full refund.
- 7 days or less before it starts: we move you to another date instead of refunding you. You can move once. Your seat is transferred to a date you choose from those we have scheduled.
- If you do not turn up and have not told us, that counts as cancelling inside the 7 days.
The 7 days is measured to the workshop start time, Queensland time.
If we cannot offer you another date within 3 months of the original, or you cannot make any date we offer in that time, we refund you in full. A seat you can never use is not a seat.
How refunds are paid
Every refund — course or workshop — goes by bank transfer to the account details you give us. We do not hold your bank details, so we ask for them at the time and use them for that one transfer. We aim to pay within 10 business days of agreeing the refund.
If you think we have got it wrong
Email support@becometradeready.com.au and tell us what happened. If we cannot sort it out between us, you can contact the consumer protection agency in your state or territory, or the ACCC.
